Erin Murphy first heard about Aliquippa Impact through Toccoa Falls College. “I attended TFC the same time as some of the first Aliquippa Impact staff members and had heard about it through word on campus. A few of my friends were on Summer Day Camp Staff year of 2006, and I was pulled in last minute because they were in need of one more female staff member. It wasn’t my plan for that summer, but it was the Lord’s! I was certainly not disappointed, as I came back the next summer for round 2.”
Erin has been a part of AI starting back in 2006 – 2007 and just recently joined AI again with her husband Danny last fall. Erin takes part in the After School Program and is a Cohort Leader.
“AI has stretched me in so many ways. I have been challenged in my views of social justice in ways I’ve never been challenged before. My eyes were opened and my heart followed suit. The Lord began a new work in me, both in terms of AI ministry and in experiencing the presence of our living and active God. Living in community alongside of AI has inspired and spurred me on to press into what the Holy Spirit is doing in the community of Aliquippa…to grow and heal and love alongside of countless others doing the same.”
“I value the passion I’ve seen for the children of Aliquippa in the eyes and hearts of everyone involved at AI. My heart is encouraged every time we have a staff meeting, as I hear of moments had between students and staff…moments of breakthrough and awakenings of the Father’s love on both sides.”
